About the founder
Matthew Oar, Director of LeadSafe+, brings over 25 years of frontline experience across the domestic, industrial, commercial, mining, energy distribution, and construction industries.
A qualified Electrical Fitter/Mechanic and Linesperson, Matthew combines deep technical expertise with practical leadership in high-risk environments.
His qualifications include:
- Master of Business Administration (MBA)
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
- Numerous certifications in safety leadership, coaching, and mentoring
Matthew has also co-designed and delivered an award winning safety program focused on embedding strong safety behaviours and leadership accountability across diverse teams and worksites.

1. Developing Sustained Frontline Leadership
Empowers frontline leaders to become confident, accountable decision-makers who consistently drive safety, culture, and performance.
This program introduces participants to the PILLAR Program-a structured framework that builds essential leadership and operational capabilities through planning, hazard identification, effective communication, continuous learning, and wellbeing. Leaders will develop the mindset and tools to lead with intent, influence positive behaviours, and embed safety and productivity into everyday work.
2. Operational Safety and Performance
A field-based, hands-on program designed to strengthen work planning, hazard identification and control, effective communication, and real-time verification of risk management measures.
This program introduces key elements of the PILLAR Program, providing frontline teams with practical tools to embed safety checkpoints, apply and verify controls, conduct meaningful debriefs, and reinforce physical and mental wellbeing. It ensures that safety is not only planned-but actively demonstrated throughout the job.
